Hi Coco and Mainers! We are going to talk about the last (and sometimes forgotten) item that completes an outfit -- scent. How you smell can perfectly capture and complete your look!
Below are a few scents that passed our sniff test and are perfect for the summer ahead. *No links are affiliate links, these are just our personal opinion*.
1. Maison Margiela, 'REPLICA' Beach Walk

The entire 'REPLICA' collection by Maison Margiela is genius, but this particular scent is ideal for the summer (after all, how much more summer can you get than a scent that smells like the beach?). According to Sephora, this scent is considered a fresh floral, with the key notes being bergamot, heliotrope, and coconut milk. It has a 4.2/5 star rating, with descriptions that it smells "like you just walked off the beach at sunset", and "tropical with just the right amount of coconut". The standard size is a bit pricey at $135 for 1 oz, but many of the reviews say it is worth it (and we have to agree).
2. Wood Sage and Sea Salt, Jo Malone

This scent is outdoorsy like Beach Walk but more woody and fresh scented. It isn't as sweet and doesn't have coconut, but gives a light scent that makes you feel cloaked in nature and sunshine. Reviews on Sephora give it 4/5 stars, and some users say that it's "soft and ethereal, woody and fresh" and "spa tropical vacay". The one issue is that 3.4 oz costs $142, but if you want to test out the scent before you splurge, you can always try the dupe from Dossier .
3. 3 L'IMPERATRICE Eau de Toilette, Dolce & Gabbana

This perfume is one of the many I would love to own one day, simply because its so sweet and fresh without being cloying. Sephora describes the scent as a fruity floral, with its key notes being watermelon accord, kiwi, and pink cyclamen. So far in this list, this scent has the highest rating on Sephora, with 4.6/5 stars. Some reviews describe it as "the perfect summer scent for really hot days" and "it really smells like jolly ranchers candy" (which can be good or bad depending on who you are). This scent so far also has the most bang for your buck, with 3.3 oz priced at $82 (due to it's less concentrated formula).
4. Ocean di Gioia Eau de Parfum, Armani

Once upon a time when I was 16, I asked my mom for a bottle of Acqua di Gioia. It was extremely fresh and crystalline and became my favorite scent. I wore it for years, even after switching it around for different perfumes. Why don't I wear it now? It's my MIL's scent. Sadly, even this edition might be too close to home, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it! According to Sephora, this scent is another fruity floral (hey, it's summer), and the key notes are sparkling pear, water jasmine, and sandalwood. The scent is light and fresh with a "woody musk base". This perfume has received 4.6/5 stars, and some reviews have stated that "it smells like the sea and I'm loving it!" and that they "put this on the first day I bought it and my boyfriend was OBSESSED". This scent is stronger than an eau de toilette, and the largest amount (3.4 oz) comes out to $101. If you get this, let me know; I'm already jealous!
5. Cleopatra, TOCCA

We are heading into more glamorous territory with Tocca's Cleopatra scent. We love the vintage look of the bottle, and the scent is fresh, sweet, and rich without feeling like too much. Sephora describes this scent as a warm floral, its key notes being grapefruit, jasmine, and vanilla musk. Users have rated this scent as 4.3/5 stars. Some have said that this scent is "bright, modern and sophisticated" and "glamorous and a little bit exotic". 1.7 oz of parfum comes out to $76, so 1-2 sprays a day may be enough. This could be the perfect scent for your summer date nights!
6. Fresh Cream, philosophy

When I saw that a perfume was meant to have the essence of fresh cream, I knew I needed to smell it (imagine if it had been freshly baked bread!). This toilette spray is described by Sephora as warm & spicy, with the scent type being warm & sweet gourmands. The key notes are heliotrope, vanilla, whipped cream, and macadamia nut, and the site says that "this... fragrance was created to delight your senses and bring you pure joy". Reviewers rate it at 4/5 stars, with some remarking that they "highly recommend if you're a lover of sweet, dessert scented fragrance" and that they "don't think they will ever love a perfume more than [they] love this one". This scent so far is the least pricey, at $60 for 4 oz. What are you waiting for?
